Praise God for a wonderful day of work and fellowship among our team. We arrived safely yesterday and set up camp. A team of people went over to the church and scoped it out for the coming projects. After dinner and a meeting we settled in for the night a prepared for the coming day of work. The night was not smooth for many in our group as one of our kids got sick in the night, another went missing for a little bit…we found him, and we had a fairly good rain storm that submerge one tent and kept many others up for a few extra hours. All of these evening disturbances took a lot of our excitement and motivation away, but it also placed in us a greater awareness of our need for Jesus. And He was faithful to give us the strength to get through today.
Through the power of our Lord we were able to clean many toys in the nursery, to paint a large portion of the sanctaury, and break up and remove a concrete floor from the basement. These were the bigger jobs (with many smaller ones also performed) and were each challenging in and of themselves. After our tired team returned to the camp tonight we shared with each other our highlights and the good things we saw each other do. One of the comments that reoccured a lot was the team work felt among each other and the work that was accomplished because of it. Please keep us in your prayers and join us in praising God for His faithfulness to not only get us through the day being tired, but to help us accomplish a great days work.
